A rise in violence is anticipated in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the next few days as militant groups adjust their strategies. The Pakistan Army has united Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed, and the Islamic State Khorasan Province to counter the Balochistan Liberation Army and the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan.
Militant outfits like the BLA and TTP are forming a joint front against the Pakistan Army’s alliance, posing a challenge for the military. This consolidation is part of a broader strategy unfolding in the region, officials revealed.
The TTP, Hafiz Gul Bahadur faction, BLF, and BLA are joining forces not only against Pakistan’s alliance but also against Chinese interests in the area. The aim of this new alliance is to gain control over the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor Project, according to an Intelligence Bureau official.
Reports suggest that groups in Balochistan are demanding a share of project profits from Chinese investors in exchange for ensuring their safety. The emerging alliance plans to stretch Pakistan’s security apparatus by carrying out simultaneous attacks in Balochistan and KP, forcing the security forces to respond on multiple fronts.
Officials warn that the situation in these regions is expected to become more chaotic as the BLA, TTP, and their allies declare a full-scale war against Pakistan, its proxies, and Chinese investments in the region.
