Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) President, Alok Kumar, expressed confidence in the current police investigation regarding alleged irregularities in Ram Temple donations. Kumar stated that granting the Special Investigation Team (SIT) an additional 15 days for the probe is appropriate to ensure a thorough and logical conclusion. He emphasized the importance of allowing the investigation to proceed without interference and rejected calls for a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) inquiry.
Rejecting demands for a CBI inquiry, Kumar highlighted that the ongoing investigation by the police is being conducted efficiently and impartially. He urged trust in the established investigative mechanisms of the country and emphasized the need to avoid questioning their credibility. Kumar emphasized the significance of the investigation being monitored by the media and the Hindu society to ensure transparency and accountability.
Kumar addressed concerns about the impartiality of the investigation due to the BJP-led Uttar Pradesh government. He argued against replacing the investigative agency, stating that such actions would not address politically motivated allegations. Kumar stressed the importance of maintaining public confidence in investigative institutions and highlighted the ongoing public scrutiny of the probe by the media and the Hindu community.
Regarding the extension granted to the SIT in the Ram Temple donation theft case, Kumar mentioned that the team’s role extends beyond investigating the crime. He emphasized the importance of suggesting remedies to prevent future occurrences and supported the additional time requested by the SIT for a thorough investigation. Kumar maintained that any wrongdoing during the probe would be exposed, emphasizing the need to continue with the current investigative agency.
