West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari visited his late personal assistant Chandranath Rath’s home to offer condolences. He assured the family of justice for the murder. Chandranath’s mother expressed hope for justice and mentioned Adhikari’s emotional response.
On May 6, Adhikari’s assistant was fatally shot in Madhyamgram, North 24 Parganas district. The attackers on a motorcycle targeted the vehicle, injuring Chandranath and the driver. Despite immediate medical attention, Chandranath succumbed to his injuries. A Special Investigation Team was formed by the state police to investigate the incident.
Following the incident, two individuals from Uttar Pradesh and a sharpshooter from Buxar, Bihar, were arrested. The case is now under the Central Bureau of Investigation’s scrutiny. Adhikari attended Chandranath’s funeral in East Midnapore district, expressing solidarity with the family and promising justice for the culprits.
Chandranath’s mother emphasized the need for strict punishment for those responsible and expressed confidence in the ongoing CBI investigation. She appreciated Adhikari’s visit and his commitment to ensuring justice for her son.
