West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari expressed the state government’s commitment to honoring the trust of North Bengal voters in the BJP since 2019. Adhikari, while in Siliguri, acknowledged the unwavering support of voters in North Bengal from the 2019 Lok Sabha elections to the recent Assembly polls. He emphasized fulfilling the promises made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the election campaigns.
In the recent Assembly elections, BJP candidates secured victory in 40 out of 54 constituencies across eight districts in North Bengal, with Trinamool Congress winning only 14 seats. Notably, Trinamool Congress failed to secure any seats in Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Jalpaiguri, and Alipurduar districts.
Adhikari announced that the North Bengal Development Minister, Nisith Pramanik, will address public grievances weekly at “Uttar Kanya,” the state secretariat for North Bengal. He also emphasized a zero-tolerance policy towards law and order issues, including extortion and hooliganism, throughout the state, including North Bengal.
The state government, under Adhikari’s leadership, will focus on developing the tea and tourism sectors in North Bengal and ensuring the timely completion of pending state and Central projects in the region.
