Spinners Gudakesh Motie and Roston Chase took five wickets as West Indies beat England by 30 runs in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. Sherfane Rutherford’s unbeaten 76 off 42 guided West Indies to a total of 196/6 after early setbacks.
Motie impressed with 3-33, and Chase, who scored 34 runs, claimed 2-29 as West Indies bowled out England for 166. This victory placed West Indies at the top of Group C with four points, while England slipped to third position.
England, chasing a big target, started well but collapsed to 166 all out in 19 overs. Sam Curran’s 43 not out was not enough as West Indies’ strong performance secured the win. Adil Rashid and Jamie Overton were notable bowlers for England.
