Wipro stated that it has provided all necessary documents to Pune Police and is fully assisting in the investigation regarding allegations of religious harassment and forced resignation by a former employee. The company emphasizes its commitment to a safe and respectful work environment, denouncing any form of misconduct or discrimination.
The IT firm highlighted its zero-tolerance policy towards actions that violate an individual’s rights, stating that employee welfare and respect are of utmost importance at Wipro. While refraining from commenting on the specifics of the case due to the ongoing investigation, Wipro reiterated its dedication to fostering an inclusive workplace for all employees.
Following a complaint from a former female project manager at Wipro’s Hinjawadi office, Pune police launched an inquiry into the alleged religious harassment and coercion to resign faced by the employee. The complainant accused a colleague of pressuring her to convert to Islam, influencing her personal decisions, and failing to address her grievances despite repeated complaints.
Advocate Vivek Bhosale, representing the complainant, asserted that the resignation was coerced and violated legal procedures. The Hinjawadi Police have received the complaint and issued a legal notice to Wipro demanding reinstatement, compensation, and disciplinary action against those implicated in the incident.
