A woman in South Delhi’s Pul Prahladpur area was tragically killed by her husband during a domestic argument. The husband reportedly used a mini LPG cylinder to strike his wife on the head, leading to her immediate death. The victim, identified as Poonam, was attacked by her husband, Suresh, who was subsequently apprehended by the Delhi Police.
Neighbors revealed that the couple, who had recently moved into a DDA housing complex, had two children. While one child was staying with their grandmother, the 18-month-old infant was present during the fatal incident that occurred around 9:30 p.m. on March 29. Witnesses stated that they rushed to the scene upon hearing the woman’s cries, and with the help of the landlord, managed to enter the locked house. Inside, they found Poonam’s lifeless body on the floor, with the accused husband holding the baby.
Initial investigations suggest that the heinous act may have stemmed from severe suspicion. Authorities are conducting a thorough inquiry to ascertain whether the murder was premeditated. This tragic event adds to a series of domestic violence cases in the National Capital Region, with a recent incident involving the arrest of a vegetable vendor, Munchun Kewat, for the murder of his wife and three children in Samaypur Badli.
