Several world leaders have shown solidarity with Venezuela and offered aid following the recent devastating earthquakes that have resulted in 32 deaths and over 700 injuries. US President Donald Trump has pledged Washington’s support and directed US government agencies to prepare for swift action. Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum has also expressed solidarity and instructed the provision of necessary aid to Venezuela, including specialized personnel in rescue and health.
Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, El Salvador President Nayib Bukele, and Ecuador President Daniel Noboa have all extended support to Venezuela in the wake of the earthquakes. Bukele announced that 300 rescuers and paramedics, along with essential supplies, are ready to depart for Caracas. Sanchez conveyed his support and thoughts to the victims and their families, while Noboa arranged for immediate humanitarian aid to be sent to address the emergency in Venezuela.
Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla has offered condolences to Venezuela for the loss of lives and damage caused by the earthquake. Uruguay President Yamandu Orsi and the Chilean government have also expressed solidarity with Venezuela and willingness to provide assistance. Venezuela’s Acting President Delcy Rodriguez confirmed the death toll and injuries, with the coastal state of La Guaira being the worst affected by the earthquakes.
The US Geological Survey reported two powerful earthquakes near Caracas, with magnitudes of 7.1 and 7.5. Rodriguez declared a State of Emergency in Venezuela due to the widespread damage caused by the quakes. The international community continues to stand by Venezuela during this challenging time.
