The late filmmaker Yash Chopra explained why he decided not to include the song ‘Ye Hum Aa Gaya Hain Kahaan’ in the final version of his iconic movie ‘Veer-Zaara’. In an old video conversation with Karan Johar that has resurfaced online, Chopra shared the background behind this decision. Karan Johar praised the song, mentioning Lata Mangeshkar’s beautiful rendition and the song’s lyrical beauty, questioning its absence in the film.
Chopra revealed that he had indeed filmed the song and initially placed it close to the climax. However, realizing it disrupted the narrative flow, he made the tough call to remove it. He mentioned his son Aditya Chopra’s advice to sacrifice the song for the sake of the story. Despite the initial exclusion, the song was later added for the DVD release, allowing fans to enjoy it.
