Youssef Ezzejjari scored two goals to lead East Bengal FC to a 4-1 victory over Sporting Club Delhi in Indian Super League (ISL) 2025-26’s Gameweek 2 at Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan (VYBK) in Kolkata. This win marks East Bengal’s second consecutive victory, propelling them to the top of the table with six points.
Sporting Club Delhi initially took the lead with Augustine Lalrochana’s goal in the fourth minute, but East Bengal quickly equalized through Edmund Lalrindika. Ezzejjari then converted a penalty in the 12th minute to put East Bengal ahead before adding another goal in the 40th minute. Miguel Figueira sealed the win with a stoppage-time goal, with Ezzejjari named the Player of the Match.
Both teams made tactical changes, with East Bengal FC’s Óscar Bruzón bringing in Edmund Lalrindika for Saúl Crespo, and SC Delhi’s Tomasz Tchórz introducing Joseph Sunny in place of Devendra Dhaku. The match started energetically, with SC Delhi scoring first, but East Bengal responded swiftly, eventually dominating the game and securing a convincing victory.
The game saw a flurry of action, with East Bengal maintaining pressure despite being in the lead. SC Delhi tried to mount a comeback in the second half but failed to capitalize on their chances.
