Uncapped wicketkeeper-batter Tafadzwa Tsiga has received his first T20I call-up for the upcoming three-match series against India. All-rounder Wessly Madhevere and pacer Newman Nyamhuri have also been included in the 15-member Zimbabwe squad for the series, replacing Clive Madande, Tinotenda Maposa, and Tashinga Musekiwa from the previous squad. The matches are scheduled to be held at the Harare Sports Club on July 23, 25, and 26.
Tsiga, who has played 10 Tests for Zimbabwe, is yet to make his debut in white-ball internationals. Madhevere, who has featured in 79 T20Is, returns to the shortest format after his last appearance in July 2025 during the Bangladesh series. Nyamhuri makes a comeback after recovering from an injury that limited his participation in the ODIs against Bangladesh earlier this month. Tanaka Chivanga, who replaced Nyamhuri in the ODIs, retains his spot in the squad.
Sikandar Raza will lead Zimbabwe in the series against India. The team recently secured a historic innings win in the Test and won the ODI series 2-1 but lost the T20I series 1-2. Zimbabwe will face a tough challenge against India, the reigning T20 World Cup champions, who are looking to bounce back from recent defeats in Ireland and England. In their last encounter during the T20 World Cup Super Eight stage, India defeated Zimbabwe by 72 runs in Chennai.
