Zimbabwe’s Brad Evans revealed his determination to prevent Vaibhav Sooryavanshi from achieving his first international century during the third T20I match at Harare Sports Club. Evans’ exceptional diving catch off Wessly Madhevere’s delivery in the 15th over halted Sooryavanshi’s impressive innings at 81 runs off 49 balls.
In a post-match interview, Evans acknowledged the challenge posed by India’s strong batting lineup and expressed satisfaction with his bowling performance, taking 2-41 in four overs. Despite a slow start, Evans made a strong comeback in the latter part of his spell after conceding 15 runs in his initial over.
Reflecting on Zimbabwe’s bowling strategy, Evans admitted that it took them three matches to devise effective plans against India’s formidable batsmen. He commended India’s batting prowess but emphasized his enjoyment of the competitive challenge they presented.
India posted a total of 192/5 in their 20 overs, led by Sooryavanshi’s impressive half-century. Sooryavanshi’s partnerships with Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer, along with Rinku Singh’s quick cameo, propelled India close to the 200-run mark. Despite falling short, India remains poised for a series sweep with a 3-0 lead.
