Filmmaker Zoya Akhtar recently reminisced about the days when actors were like friends on set. She posted a series of behind-the-scenes photos from her debut film, “Luck By Chance,” made 18 years ago. The pictures reflect a simpler and more creatively driven era in Bollywood.
In the throwback images, Zoya shared memories of shooting on film, having prints, and the dominance of romance on screen. She also mentioned her first hero and the camaraderie among actors during that time. The photos provide a glimpse into the making of the 2008 movie, capturing moments with actors like Hrithik Roshan, Dimple Kapadia, and late star Rishi Kapoor.
Zoya Akhtar, daughter of veteran lyricist Javed Akhtar and writer Honey Irani, is known for directing successful films like “Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara,” “Dil Dhadakne Do,” and “Gully Boy.” She comes from a family with a rich Bollywood background, being the sister of actor Farhan Akhtar. “Luck By Chance” featured a star-studded cast including Farhan Akhtar, Hrithik Roshan, Dimple Kapadia, and others, portraying the journey of an industry outsider in Bollywood.
