Anurag Kashyap is back in his element, and this time, the chaos looks bigger, bolder, and bloodier. The much-awaited Nishaanchi trailer dropped on September 3, 2025, and it instantly grabbed attention for its gritty storytelling, raw emotions, and high-voltage performances. Featuring debutant Aaishvary Thackeray in a challenging double role, the trailer is already making waves ahead of its theatrical release on September 19, 2025.

Twin Rivalries at the Heart of Nishaanchi

The Nishaanchi trailer introduces us to Babloo and Dabloo, twin brothers who stand on opposite ends of morality and ambition. While one strives for love and values, the other gets entangled in the murky world of politics, mafia, and power struggles. Aaishvary Thackeray’s double role instantly shines as he navigates the two contrasting characters with conviction, setting up a clash that forms the film’s emotional and action-driven backbone.

Kashyap’s Signature Storytelling

Set in a small town in Uttar Pradesh during the early 2000s, Nishaanchi carries the trademark Kashyap stamp—raw storytelling, unapologetic violence, and deep-rooted human conflicts. Fans of Gulaal and Gangs of Wasseypur will immediately recognize the director’s familiar yet evolved style, blending romance, politics, betrayal, and bloody rivalries into a gripping narrative.

Kashyap himself shared that the story was penned in 2016 and was once planned with the late Sushant Singh Rajput. However, the project found its footing years later with the support of Amazon MGM Studios and producers Ajay Rai and Ranjan Singh of Jar Pictures.

The Characters Who Steal the Show

  • Aaishvary Thackeray: Making his debut in a double role, Aaishvary appears confident, switching seamlessly between the layered personas of Babloo and Dabloo.
  • Kumud Mishra: As the formidable antagonist, Mishra delivers spine-chilling screen presence. One of the trailer’s most talked-about moments is his menacing challenge to the protagonist.
  • Vedika Pinto as Rangeeli Rinku: Adding depth to the romance track, her character becomes central to Babloo’s struggles.
  • Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub: Known for his powerful supporting roles, he once again appears pivotal in the unfolding chaos.
  • Monika Panwar: The Kauf star steps into Kashyap’s cinematic universe with a crucial part in this 80s-inspired gangster drama.

Dialogue That Hits Hard

The trailer ends with an unforgettable line—Aaishvary’s Babloo responds to Kumud Mishra’s sinister demand with:

“So you decide whether you would like to be ‘Mughal-e-Azam’ or ‘Hum Aapke Hai Kaun’? Both were blockbusters.”

This sharp Kashyap-style quip blends dark humor with defiance, instantly becoming a talking point among fans.

Why Nishaanchi Feels Like a Must-Watch

  • Explosive action fused with a love story at its core.
  • Anurag Kashyap’s raw vision of crime, betrayal, and redemption.
  • Strong ensemble cast that balances debut talent with veteran performers.
  • Cinematic backdrop of early 2000s Uttar Pradesh—gritty, realistic, and atmospheric.

Nishaanchi is not just another gangster drama—it’s a story that promises to dig deep into love, lust, power, betrayal, and redemption, making it one of 2025’s most anticipated releases.

Final Verdict on the Nishaanchi Trailer

The Nishaanchi trailer review reveals an explosive blend of mafia politics, small-town romance, and twin rivalries, delivered in Kashyap’s fearless style. If the trailer is anything to go by, Nishaanchi could join the ranks of the filmmaker’s cult classics. With Aaishvary Thackeray’s bold debut, a gripping storyline, and powerhouse performances, this film looks like a blockbuster in the making.
