Bollywood’s megastar Salman Khan might soon be seen in a role unlike any he has done before. If reports are to be believed, the actor is in advanced talks to portray an Indian Army officer in a film inspired by the 2020 Galwan Valley clash, one of the most intense military confrontations between India and China in recent decades.

A Tribute to Bravery: Film Based on ‘India’s Most Fearless 3’

This upcoming war drama will reportedly be adapted from a chapter in India’s Most Fearless 3, the bestselling book by Shiv Aroor and Rahul Singh, which documents heroic stories from India’s armed forces. The chapter covering the Galwan Valley confrontation stood out for its raw account of valor and sacrifice, and now it’s set to become the centerpiece of this cinematic venture.

Apoorva Lakhia to Direct

The film will be helmed by Apoorva Lakhia, best known for directing action-heavy projects like Shootout at Lokhandwala. According to insiders, Lakhia acquired the rights to the book and has been working closely on developing a powerful script. The idea reportedly caught Salman Khan’s attention during a discussion facilitated by producer Jordy Patel, and the actor was moved by the emotional and patriotic weight of the story.

Salman Khan’s Role and the Vision for the Film

While formal confirmation is pending, sources indicate that Salman is keen on taking up this challenging role. The film will explore the events leading up to and following the Galwan Valley clash, offering audiences a closer look at the lives of soldiers who stood their ground in extreme conditions.

Unlike his usual high-octane commercial roles, this project will likely show a more restrained, intense side of Salman Khan—a performance that could showcase his depth as an actor and honor the bravery of Indian soldiers.

Production Timeline and Other Collaborations

If things fall into place, the war drama could go on floors in the second half of 2025. This project will join a busy lineup for Salman, who is already in talks with several notable directors. Collaborations with Ali Abbas Zafar, Kabir Khan, and Sooraj Barjatya are also being discussed, promising a diverse slate of films for the superstar.

His most recent release, Sikandar, directed by AR Murugadoss, had him playing a grounded and principled character, Sanjay “Sikandar” Rajkot. Now, with the potential Galwan Valley film on the horizon, it seems Salman is continuing to push beyond traditional boundaries, taking on stories that resonate with national pride and emotional depth.
