One of the most anticipated Bollywood films, Love and War, directed by the legendary Sanjay Leela Bhansali, is set to captivate audiences with its grandeur and emotional depth. Originally slated for a Christmas 2025 release, the film’s release date has now been pushed to March 20, 2026, as confirmed by Bhansali’s team.

The film stars Bollywood’s powerhouse trio – Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal – in lead roles, making it one of the most awaited cinematic experiences in recent times. This marks Ranbir Kapoor’s first collaboration with Bhansali since his debut film Saawariya in 2007, while Vicky Kaushal will be working with the acclaimed director for the first time. Alia Bhatt, who delivered a stunning performance in Gangubai Kathiawadi (2022), will reunite with Bhansali for this epic saga.

A Love Story Set Against the Backdrop of War

While the makers have kept the plot under wraps, Love and War is expected to be a high-octane romantic drama set against the backdrop of war, blending intense emotions with Bhansali’s signature grandeur. The film was officially announced in January 2024 through an Instagram post featuring the signatures of the three lead actors, creating a wave of excitement among fans.

Stellar Cast and Recent Projects

  • Ranbir Kapoor was last seen in the action-packed blockbuster Animal, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, which garnered massive box office success.
  • Alia Bhatt, whose last film was the romantic comedy Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani (2023), will next be seen in Jigra, set to release on October 11, 2025.
  • Vicky Kaushal is currently gearing up for his upcoming historical drama Chhaava, scheduled to hit theatres on December 6, 2024.

A Visual Extravaganza Awaits

With Sanjay Leela Bhansali at the helm, Love and War promises to be a cinematic spectacle, combining heartfelt romance with the turmoil of conflict. The film is expected to go on floors in the coming months, and fans are eagerly waiting to witness this epic saga unfold on the big screen.

Stay tuned for more updates on Love and War as the journey towards its release begins!
