Language: Hindi
Platform: Amazon miniTV & MX Player
Genre: Corporate Drama, Romance
Episodes: 15
Age Rating: U/A
Released: May 2025

Durjoy Datta’s novel Now That You’re Rich… Let’s Fall in Love gets a slick screen adaptation with Pyaar Paisa Profit Season 1. This 15-episode series plunges viewers into the highs and heartbreaks of four young professionals trying to make it big in Mumbai’s corporate maze. Directed by Prashant Singh, the series walks a fine line between millennial melodrama and workplace realism—often relatable, occasionally exaggerated, but always engaging.

Plot: Dreams, Deadlines, and Dilemmas

At the center of Pyaar Paisa Profit Season 1 is Abhijeet (Mihir Ahuja), a middle-class boy from Old Delhi who lands a dream job at a swanky Mumbai-based venture capital firm. Alongside him are three colleagues-turned-friends:

  • Garima (RJ Mahvash) – a London returnee battling her past.
  • Saurav (Ashish Raghav) – a privileged youth determined to build something of his own.
  • Shruti (Shivangi Khedkar) – a career-focused woman leaving behind a life she no longer fits into.

Their professional lives are intertwined with emotional turbulence, revealing the personal costs of ambition, and the fine line between success and self-destruction.

  • Cast Performances: Mihir Ahuja delivers a compelling performance as the idealistic Abhijeet. RJ Mahvash holds her own as Garima, infusing her character with quiet resilience. Shivangi Khedkar as Shruti adds emotional gravity, and Neil Bhoopalam as the eccentric boss Rajat Thapar is effective, if slightly familiar in delivery.

Among the cast, Ashish Raghav truly stands out. As Saurav, he brings a relaxed charm and emotional authenticity that never feels forced. His scenes often carry a natural rhythm, making him the most grounded character of the ensemble. Whether it’s his subtle humor or moments of vulnerability, Ashish captures it all with finesse.

Credit also goes to Kunal Shah, the casting director, for assembling a cast that not only looks the part but also feels entirely natural in their roles. There’s no jarring misfit here—each actor complements their character’s journey, making the ensemble feel authentic.

Performances: A Youthful Cast with Heart

Mihir Ahuja shoulders the emotional weight of the series effectively. His portrayal of a young man caught between ambition and identity is charming and vulnerable. RJ Mahvash, in a notable debut, plays Garima with subtlety and strength. Ashish Raghav’s performance as the fun yet sincere Saurav brings balance to the team, while Shivangi Khedkar’s Shruti feels grounded and real. Neil Bhoopalam as Rajat Thapar—the manipulative yet charismatic boss—adds an extra layer of intrigue.

Direction & Writing: Realistic, But Not Without Flaws

Director Prashant Singh captures the hustle and chaos of Mumbai’s corporate world, while writers Durjoy Datta and Sumrit Shahi infuse enough emotional depth to keep the series from feeling superficial. The screenplay is breezy, making the show binge-worthy. However, some conflicts lean too heavily into melodrama, and a few plot turns in the later episodes feel abrupt and overdone.

Relatable Themes: Workplace Woes, Toxic Success, and Gen Z Struggles

One of the strengths of Pyaar Paisa Profit Season 1 is its rooted understanding of young professionals’ challenges—peer pressure, toxic bosses, fractured friendships, and the hollow pursuit of wealth. Instead of sermonizing, it reflects the messy reality many urban professionals face, especially those from non-metropolitan backgrounds trying to “fit in.”

Scenes involving office politics, emotional breakdowns, and romantic tensions offer both entertainment and a mirror to modern life. The series also subtly critiques the price one pays for upward mobility, without turning preachy.

Music & Cinematography: Contemporary and Crisp

Composer Nirmal Pandya sticks to a mainstream musical palette—nothing revolutionary, but fitting for the show’s tone. Manggesh Mahadik’s cinematography elevates otherwise ordinary locations, giving a polished finish to the storytelling. The color grading and framing resonate with the aspirational energy the story wants to deliver.

What Works:

  • Relatable Storyline – Ambition, relationships, and urban survival.
  • Fresh Performances – Especially from Mihir Ahuja and RJ Mahvash.
  • Breezy Screenplay – Quick and emotionally engaging.
  • Visual Aesthetic – Polished look despite limited settings.

What Doesn’t:

  • Exaggerated Moments – Some twists feel forced or overdone.
  • Loss of Momentum – The second half dips into predictable territory.
  • Underutilized Characters – Some arcs deserved deeper exploration.

Final Verdict: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ (3.5/5 Stars)

Pyaar Paisa Profit Season 1 is a heartfelt take on ambition, friendships, and emotional resilience in today’s urban jungle. It may not reinvent the genre, but its sincerity and relatability make it worth your time. Watch it for its ensemble cast, easy-to-digest episodes, and the emotional truths hidden beneath its glossy surface.

Should You Watch It?

Yes—if you enjoy youthful workplace dramas with emotional subplots and realistic conflicts. Think Official Chukyagiri, but messier and more emotionally charged.

Now streaming on Amazon miniTV and MX Player.
