  • 2 nos Green chilies, chopped

Step-by-Step Recipe

Step 1: Prep the Batter

  1. Soak the kala chana overnight or for at least 8 hours. Drain and rinse well.
  2. Add the soaked kala chana to a blender along with ginger, garlic, cumin seeds, and green chilies. Blend to a smooth paste using a little water if necessary.
  3. Transfer the paste to a mixing bowl. Add semolina, curd, chopped curry leaves, and coriander.
  4. Gradually add water to achieve a dosa batter consistency—thick but pourable. Season with salt.
  5. Let the batter rest for 15–20 minutes to allow the semolina to soften and absorb the flavors.

Step 2: Cooking the Dosa

  1. Heat a dosa tawa (griddle) on medium heat. Once hot, grease it lightly with oil.
  2. Pour a ladleful of batter onto the tawa and spread it into a thin circle using the back of the ladle.
  3. Drizzle a little oil around the edges and let it cook until the bottom turns golden brown and crisp.
  4. Flip the dosa and cook the other side for 1–2 minutes.

Step 3: Serve and Enjoy

  1. Serve hot dosas with your favorite accompaniments like coconut chutney, mint chutney, or tomato-onion chutney.
