Marathi cinema has consistently delivered compelling content across genres, and Drushya-Adrushya arrives as a suspense drama that promises mystery, emotion, and thrills in equal measure. Directed by Milind Lele and produced under the R.S.T. Canvas banner, this film weaves together a missing child, an unsolved murder, and a maze of contradicting testimonies — the ingredients of a true edge-of-your-seat thriller. With a powerhouse cast led by Pooja Sawant and backed by strong technical craft, Drushya-Adrushya is a worthwhile addition to the Marathi suspense genre.

Drushya-Adrushya is a well-crafted Marathi suspense drama built around a mother’s frantic search for her missing daughter and the murder of her husband. Pooja Sawant delivers a moving and committed performance at the film’s emotional core, supported by a dependable ensemble cast. While the screenplay takes time to find its footing in the second half, the film’s atmospheric tension, impactful background score, and nail-biting mystery make it a satisfying watch for fans of the genre. A solid 4-star Marathi thriller that deserves your attention.

Plot Summary

Tanvi Pradhan (Pooja Sawant) arrives at a hotel for a holiday with her young daughter Isha (Baby Keya Ingle). What begins as a leisure trip quickly turns into a nightmare when Isha vanishes without a trace. Investigating officer Inspector Bhushan Patil (Ashok Samarth) finds himself caught between conflicting accounts — the hotel staff’s version of events clashes entirely with Tanvi’s testimony. To make matters worse, the dead body of Tanvi’s husband Rohit (Suvrat Joshi) is discovered in a nearby jungle. Who kidnapped little Isha? Who killed Rohit? And what dark secrets lie hidden between the visible and the invisible — the Drushya and the Adrushya?

Performances

Pooja Sawant is the beating heart of Drushya-Adrushya. As Tanvi Pradhan — a mother torn apart by grief, fear, and helplessness — she delivers a layered, emotionally resonant performance that anchors the entire film. Her ability to convey raw vulnerability while maintaining credibility in high-tension scenes is impressive, and she carries the narrative with effortless conviction.

Suvrat Joshi brings warmth and genuine charm to his role as Rohit Pradhan. Despite the constraints of his screen time, Joshi creates a believable and endearing presence that makes the emotional stakes of his character’s fate feel deeply personal.

Ashok Samarth shines as the methodical and sharp Inspector Bhushan Patil. He brings an authoritative gravitas to the investigation scenes while keeping his portrayal grounded and relatable. His screen chemistry with Pooja Sawant adds an engaging dynamic to the film’s central conflict.

Baby Keya Ingle is a revelation as young Isha. For a child performer, her natural and expressive presence is remarkable, and she brings an innocence to the role that makes her disappearance feel all the more urgent and heartbreaking.

Vidyadhar Joshi delivers a memorable turn as hotel owner Bhandari, bringing a nuanced ambiguity to the character that suits the film’s mystery tone perfectly. Akshaya Gurav as PSI Sawant and Hardik Joshi as Suraj Bhandari both contribute meaningfully to the ensemble, adding texture to the supporting fabric of the story.

Technical Analysis

Direction

Milind Lele demonstrates a confident command of the suspense genre, constructing an atmosphere of unease and intrigue that holds the audience’s attention through much of the runtime. His ability to juggle multiple narrative threads — the missing child, the murder investigation, and the contradicting testimonies — reflects a mature directorial sensibility.

Cinematography

Amol Salunke’s camerawork is one of the film’s genuine technical highlights. His framing and use of light and shadow complement the suspenseful tone beautifully, lending the film a moody, cinematic quality that elevates the overall viewing experience.

Music & Background Score

The musical duo of Ashish Mujumdar and Devdutta Manisha Baji deliver a score that serves the film admirably. The background score, in particular, is a standout — impactful and atmospheric, it heightens the tension at precisely the right moments. Valay Mulgund’s lyrics add emotional depth to the film’s musical pieces.

Action & Stunts

Shaila Tike’s action and stunt choreography is a pleasant surprise, adding bursts of kinetic energy to the proceedings and executing several memorable sequences with skill and precision.

Editing

Sachin Wagh’s editing keeps the narrative flowing through the first half, though a tighter hand in the second half could have elevated the film’s pacing and maintained its grip more consistently.

Art Direction

Nitin Borkar’s art direction ably creates the distinct visual environments the story demands, from the hotel setting to the jungle locale, lending the film a sense of place that adds authenticity to the drama.
