In Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, the Chhata police arrested 15 individuals for causing chaos on National Highway-19, attacking police officers, and damaging vehicles. The incident occurred following the death of a cow vigilante named Chandrashekhar, also known as “Farsa Wale Baba,” in a road accident in the Kosi Kalan area. The situation escalated as a group blocked the highway, leading to violence, including firing and stone-pelting at law enforcement and cow protection groups.
Additional forces were deployed to restore order and clear the highway, which had been severely disrupted by the protest. The Chhata police swiftly conducted an operation, apprehending the 15 suspects involved in the violent activities. Various items used during the incident, such as sticks, bricks, stones, and illegal firearms, were seized from the accused during the arrests.
The police have filed a case at Chhata Police Station under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including charges related to rioting, attempted murder, public way obstruction, and damage to public property. The arrested individuals are being presented before the court for further legal proceedings. Authorities have assured that the situation is now under control and have warned of strict actions against any attempts to disrupt peace and order.
