A 20-year-old youth, identified as Gaurav Kumar, was tragically stabbed to death in Patna following a dispute over tea and cigarettes. The incident occurred near Nectar Hospital in the Lohia Nagar locality under Kankarbagh police station limits.
Gaurav, a BA Part-I student from Ramnagar Hridanbigaha village in Lakhisarai district, was chased by a group of assailants who pinned him down and repeatedly stabbed him. The victim’s family recounted that the altercation began when Gaurav handed Rs 200 to a youth at MIG Park to purchase tea and cigarettes, leading to a confrontation when the money was not returned.
According to Gaurav’s brother Saurav, tensions escalated as several youths surrounded Gaurav and attacked him. Following the assault, Gaurav sought refuge at a shop in Lohia Nagar and informed his family about the incident. Subsequently, a group of 15 to 20 youths arrived at the shop and assaulted Gaurav, injuring family members who tried to intervene.
Gaurav sustained severe stab wounds and was rushed to Nectar Hospital, where he tragically succumbed to his injuries the following day. The Kankarbagh police responded to the scene promptly, launching an investigation, with a forensic team gathering evidence. Four suspects, identified as juveniles, have been apprehended, while efforts are ongoing to arrest the remaining individuals involved in the fatal attack.
