2025 has been a pivotal year for India’s governance and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, according to Akhilesh Mishra, CEO of BlueKraft Digital Foundation. Mishra emphasized that the reforms implemented this year have brought about substantial and lasting changes across various sectors such as the economy, labor laws, energy, and welfare. These reforms signify a departure from incremental adjustments to a more profound transformation in economic decision-making that had been pending for decades.
Mishra highlighted that the reforms introduced in 2025 represent a fundamental shift in how the Indian government handles aspects like taxation, labor regulations, capital management, land policies, and social welfare. He commended the government for executing these changes smoothly and transparently, without any chaos, coercion, or favoritism. One of the notable reforms mentioned was the implementation of GST 2.0, which has simplified the tax structure, leading to enhanced compliance and increased consumer spending.
The CEO credited Prime Minister Modi for fostering better relations between the central and state governments, particularly in the context of the GST implementation. Mishra also praised the decision to exempt incomes up to Rs 12 lakh from taxation, describing it as a significant relief for the middle-class population. This move has not only reduced the burden of tax-related paperwork and anxiety but has also boosted disposable income and overall consumption levels.
In the energy sector, Mishra highlighted the positive impact of the SHANTI Bill, which has effectively addressed the longstanding stagnation in India’s nuclear energy domain by allowing regulated private sector involvement. This reform is expected to bolster clean energy production, enhance energy security, and maintain strategic autonomy while ensuring government oversight. Additionally, Mishra pointed out that the consolidation of outdated labor laws into four modern labor codes has not only elevated the dignity of workers but has also facilitated job creation by streamlining compliance procedures and introducing social security measures for gig workers.
