A 22-year-old woman was fatally shot at her doorstep in Hajipur, Bihar, raising concerns in the neighborhood. The incident took place at Chauhata Chowk on Thursday night, where the victim, Gudiya Devi, was identified as the wife of local resident Arjun Paswan.

Two suspects have been detained by the police for questioning in connection with the shooting. Gudiya’s husband, Arjun Paswan, recounted that she collapsed after going downstairs to fetch water, leading to the tragic discovery of the gunshot wound upon her return upstairs.
The family rushed Gudiya to the hospital upon finding her injured, but she succumbed to her wounds during treatment. Notably, the absence of any sound of gunfire despite the visible bullet injury has raised suspicions surrounding the case.
Allegations of a longstanding dispute with neighbors have surfaced, with Arjun Paswan mentioning a recent argument over spilled water that escalated into threats. The police have connected this dispute to the shooting incident and are conducting a thorough investigation, including a post-mortem examination.
