In a remarkable show of unity, 24 young individuals representing four diverse communities in Manipur – Meitei, Kuki, Naga, and Meitei Pangal (Muslim) – have successfully finished a 10-day National Integration Tour spanning Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, and West Bengal. The group was welcomed back by Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla and First Lady Jyoti Bhalla at the Assam Rifles 9th Sector headquarters in New Keithelmanbi Garrison.
During the tour, the team visited various cities including Thiruvananthapuram, Kanniyakumari, Mumbai, and Kolkata. They also had the opportunity to meet Kerala Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar. The main objective of this initiative was to promote the spirit of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ and offer the participants a chance to explore the cultural richness, heritage, and technological advancements of India.
Brigadier Pratyush Kumar, Deputy Inspector General of the 9th Sector Assam Rifles, briefed the Governor about the National Integration Tour. Governor Bhalla emphasized that such experiences enable the youth to appreciate the cultural diversity of the country and witness how people from different backgrounds coexist harmoniously across India. He highlighted the importance of these exposures in fostering national unity and encouraging the participants to share their learnings with others.
The Governor expressed optimism that the insights gained during the tour would motivate the participants to make positive contributions to society and strive towards India’s development vision for 2047. He urged the participants to propagate the message of national unity and harmony within Manipur. The youths expressed their gratitude to the Assam Rifles for organizing the enlightening visit, and the Governor engaged in discussions with them about their experiences during the National Integration Tour.
