At least 30 individuals sustained injuries in two distinct road accidents in Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday. In the first incident, a passenger bus traveling from Beerwah to Budgam met with an accident at Kawnar near Nasrullahpora, injuring 25 passengers along with the driver. Local residents promptly assisted in rescuing the injured before emergency services arrived.
The injured individuals were promptly taken to the Sub-District Hospital (SDH), Budgam, for medical treatment. Meanwhile, authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the bus accident. In a separate road mishap in the Pattan area of Baramulla district, five people were injured when three vehicles collided near the Zangam Petrol Pump.
The collision involved a car, a dumper, and an SUV, all bearing Bandipora registration numbers. Two of the injured were referred to JVC Hospital, Srinagar, for advanced medical care, while the remaining three were transported to Trauma Hospital, Pattan. Police have initiated an investigation into the incident, which briefly disrupted traffic movement in the area.
On a previous date, eight Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel and a civilian driver sustained injuries in a road accident in Reasi district. The accident, which occurred due to the bus overturning along the Tarakote route to the shrine, is under investigation. Factors such as excessive speed, overloading, aggressive driving, mobile phone distractions, and poor road conditions contribute to road accidents in the region.
