The 77th Republic Day was commemorated at the helipad ground near the newly built court building in Malupur, Vav-Tharad district, Gujarat. Governor Acharya Devvrat and Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel graced the state-level event. The tradition of hosting the state-level Republic Day festivities in various Gujarat regions was initiated during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s tenure.
Governor Acharya Devvrat hoisted the national flag and led the ceremonial parade, receiving a salute. A helicopter showered flower petals during the flag-hoisting, capturing the attention of the attendees. Approximately 1,600 Gujarat Police personnel, organized into 22 platoons, participated in the march-past and paid tribute to the national flag.
The celebration included cultural performances and demonstrations by police contingents, emphasizing discipline, service, and national unity. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel conveyed his greetings to the citizens on the 77th Republic Day, honoring the freedom fighters and the framers of the Constitution. He emphasized the nation’s progress towards becoming Viksit Bharat by 2047 and urged unity, constitutional values, and a ‘Nation First’ approach for global recognition.
While the state-level event occurred in Vav-Tharad, district-level Republic Day functions were also held across Gujarat, including in Ahmedabad, following established protocols. Ministers of State represented the government at various locations, with Minister of State for Cottage Industries Swarupji Thakor in Shankheshwar and Minister of State for Primary, Secondary, and Adult Education Rivaba Jadeja in Gadhada.
In nine districts, Collectors raised the national flag at designated taluka headquarters, including locations in Aravalli, Banaskantha, Bharuch, Devbhoomi Dwarka, Jamnagar, Junagadh, Morbi, Mandvi, and Surat. These ceremonies, attended by administrative officers, security personnel, students, and local residents, showcased the national spirit across the state.
