A team from the 8th Central Pay Commission is currently in J&K from May 31 to June 5. The Union Territory government departments have been requested to present their demands during this visit. The CPC has organized an interaction and presentation session with the J&K government on June 1 at SKICC, Srinagar.
The meeting, scheduled from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., will be overseen by the J&K Chief Secretary and attended by senior officers from various departments. Notable invitees include Additional Chief Secretaries and Principal Secretaries from key departments. The purpose of this visit is to gather feedback on pay structures, service conditions, and other relevant matters for the 8th Central Pay Commission’s review process.
The 8th CPC, officially constituted by the Centre, is currently in the consultation and review phase. The new pay scales and allowances are anticipated to be effective from January 2026. However, the final approval of pay hikes and salary structures will only occur post the commission’s recommendations submission.
