Members of the 8th Pay Commission have initiated discussions regarding the proposed salary adjustments for central government employees and retirees. A crucial meeting is set to take place in Dehradun on April 24, where representatives from employee unions, pensioners’ associations, and other concerned parties will share their perspectives on pay structures, allowances, and pension-related matters.

The Commission members are planning to conduct similar meetings in various parts of the country to gain a better understanding of the challenges faced by employees and pensioners. Insights gathered from these interactions will play a significant role in determining the future revisions of salaries, pensions, and benefits.

Stakeholders interested in expressing their opinions are required to schedule appointments in advance if they wish to engage with the Commission. A notice dated March 30 stated, “A team from the 8th Central Pay Commission will be visiting Dehradun, Uttarakhand on April 24. Interested stakeholders, including central government organizations/institutions and unions/associations, who wish to interact with the Commission in Dehradun, are requested to submit their appointment requests by April 10.”

Individuals seeking to attend the 8th Pay Commission meeting must submit an email request by April 10 to be considered for participation. Following the deadline, the Commission will evaluate the applications and notify selected participants about the meeting’s venue and schedule. All relevant updates and official information regarding this process are accessible on the Commission’s website.

Employee unions, pensioners’ associations, organizations, and individuals have the opportunity to provide feedback on salaries, allowances, pensions, and other work-related matters. The Commission has established an online platform where stakeholders can submit their suggestions through memorandums until April 30. Additionally, a structured questionnaire has been shared to gather detailed inputs.

The Commission will assess all feedback received from both meetings and written submissions before formulating its recommendations. With over 1.1 crore central government employees and pensioners anticipating progress on the 8th Pay Commission, the panel is tasked with submitting its report within an 18-month timeframe.
