Shiv Sena-UBT leader Aaditya Thackeray dismissed rumors of a party split, emphasizing the loyalty of all Members of Parliament (MPs). Thackeray urged people not to believe speculations and stated that they have faith in their colleagues. Amid talks of a possible split under “Operation Tiger,” Thackeray’s comments came in response to reports suggesting contact between some MPs and Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s faction.
Thackeray highlighted that the MPs were elected with significant voter trust in Uddhav Thackeray during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. He criticized the BJP, accusing them of trying to create divisions nationwide to secure a parliamentary majority. Thackeray mentioned the extensive campaign support received from Uddhav Thackeray and NCP chief Sharad Pawar during the elections.
Addressing the absence of five MPs from a recent meeting, Thackeray defended their participation online and questioned the need for physical presence. Meanwhile, Shiv Sena (UBT) Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut hinted at launching “Operation Wolf” to counter opponents. Raut affirmed that all MPs remain with Shiv Sena (UBT) and emphasized trust in their loyalty.
The statements by Thackeray and Raut gain significance amidst ongoing speculation about potential political realignments within Shiv Sena. Sources indicate that Uddhav Thackeray discussed the matter during a crucial party MPs’ meeting. The party chief expressed openness to those wishing to leave but warned against abandoning Balasaheb Thackeray’s Shiv Sena.
As the party faces internal dynamics, the upcoming foundation day celebrations on June 19 will serve as a crucial juncture. The attendance of MPs at this event is expected to shape the party’s future direction. Thackeray also criticized rebel Trinamool Congress MPs as “ungrateful” for switching sides after winning under Mamata Banerjee’s leadership in West Bengal.
