Bollywood star Aamir Khan, along with Gracy Singh, Paul Blackthorne, and Ashutosh Gowariker, revisited their iconic 2001 film “Lagaan” 25 years post-release. The group, including Raj Zutshi and Daya Shankar Pandey, gathered to rehearse memorable dialogues from the movie. Aamir nostalgically recited lines while Paul also joined in with his dialogues in Hindi.
The video, shared on Aamir Khan Productions’ Instagram, showcased the cast’s reunion and dialogues, emphasizing the enduring popularity of the film. “Lagaan: Once Upon a Time in India” is a period sports drama set in 1893 during British colonial rule in India. The storyline revolves around a village’s cricket match challenge to evade oppressive taxes imposed by a British officer.
The film, which also features British actor Rachel Shelley, faced a box-office clash with “Gadar: Ek Prem Katha” in 2001. “Lagaan” holds the distinction of being the third Indian film nominated for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film, following “Mother India” and “Salaam Bombay!”
