A massive fire at Lemon Green Restaurant in South Delhi’s Malviya Nagar claimed over 20 lives, with 37 individuals rescued and hospitalized. AAP leader Somnath Bharti, attributing the fire to a short circuit, criticized the delayed fire department response but commended firefighters and locals for rescue attempts. Bharti highlighted the significant role of locals in aiding trapped individuals, preventing higher casualties.

BJP MLA Satish Upadhyay, acknowledging the international visitors in the area, praised the swift actions of the Fire Department, police, and local administration. He emphasized the importance of community support in rescue operations and assured stringent measures to prevent future tragedies.

The tragedy predominantly affected South Africans, many of whom were family members of patients at Max Hospital. Both leaders expressed sorrow over the losses witnessed during the incident, underscoring the need for coordinated efforts to mitigate such disasters.
