India’s Abhay Singh and Veer Chotrani have advanced to the second round of the British Open squash tournament. Abhay defeated Colombia’s Matias Knudsen, while Chotrani secured a victory against Pakistan’s Noor Zaman.
Chotrani is set to face Welsh player Joel Makin in the next round, while Abhay will compete against Egyptian player Mohamad Zakaria. Unfortunately, Ramit Tandon retired during his match against Frenchman Auguste Dussourd.
In other matches, Simon Herbert defeated 2018 Champion Miguel Rodriguez, and Sam Todd progressed to the last 32 after a tough battle against Fares Dessouky. In the women’s category, Anahat Singh lost to Nardine Garas, who will now play against Tinne Gilis.
Garas expressed her happiness with the win, mentioning her excitement for the upcoming match at the Rep theatre in Birmingham. She reflected on giving her best in the last tournament of the season and looked forward to the next challenge.
