Trinamool Congress leader Abhishek Banerjee criticized BJP’s Suvendu Adhikari during a workers’ meeting in Nandigram. Banerjee accused Adhikari of betraying his constituency by aligning with those who insult Bengalis. He emphasized the importance of loyalty to the public over personal interests.
Banerjee highlighted that Nandigram is a Trinamool stronghold and expressed support for their candidate. He contrasted their candidate, a Nandigram resident, with Adhikari, who does not reside in the area. Banerjee criticized Adhikari for focusing on symbols like saffron flags instead of addressing people’s basic needs.
The upcoming Assembly elections in Nandigram were framed as a battle for the region’s sanctity and to accelerate development projects led by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. Banerjee urged party members to intensify efforts in areas where past electoral performance was weak. He warned against any deviation or collaboration with the opposition within the party.
Banerjee assured party workers of his personal oversight in Nandigram and pledged support against any external pressures or intimidation they might face.
