Trinamool Congress general secretary and Lok Sabha member, Abhishek Banerjee, is set to be interrogated at the CID headquarters of West Bengal Police due to a signature mismatch case involving Trinamool legislators. This will be his second appearance for questioning in this case, following a previous six-hour interrogation on June 11.
Abhishek Banerjee, the nephew of former Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, will face a series of interrogations starting with the CID on Sunday. Journalist-turned-politician Kunal Ghosh, another Trinamool Congress legislator, is also summoned for questioning in the same matter. There is a possibility that both Banerjee and Ghosh will be questioned together.
On Monday, June 15, Abhishek Banerjee is scheduled to be questioned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with a cash-for-school-job case in West Bengal. The ED had previously issued a notice to him on June 3. Additionally, on Tuesday, June 16, he is expected to appear at the CID headquarters again for interrogation regarding allegations of inciting violence and threatening Union Home Minister Amit Shah before the state’s Assembly polls.
