India’s left-handed opener Abhishek Sharma acknowledged teammate Shivam Dube for helping him regain form in the 2026 Men’s T20 World Cup final. Sharma revealed that he used Dube’s bat during his impressive innings of 52 runs off 21 balls, setting up India’s 96-run victory over New Zealand at the Narendra Modi Stadium.
During the tournament, Sharma had struggled with a stomach infection and poor performance, managing only 89 runs before the final match. However, his quick-fire 52 runs off 21 balls, including a fifty in 18 balls, paved the way for India to claim their third Men’s T20 World Cup title.
