The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) in Jammu and Kashmir has officially lodged a complaint against senior officials from the Jammu branch of the State Industrial Development Corporation (SICOP). The case involves suspected unlawful appointments, regularization, and subsequent promotions that were allegedly done in violation of regulations.
According to a statement by the ACB, a formal case has been registered against R.K. Razdan, the former Managing Director of Jammu SICOP (now retired), Kunal Choudhary (currently Deputy General Manager at Jammu SICOP), and others. The allegations pertain to the improper appointment, regularization, and promotion of Kunal Choudhary, who currently serves as the Deputy General Manager at SICOP.
Investigations revealed that Kunal Choudhary was initially hired as a Technical Assistant on a temporary basis for six months without following the proper procedures such as advertising the position or inviting applications from eligible candidates. Subsequently, he was regularized without meeting the necessary criteria and was later promoted to the position of Manager without considering other eligible candidates’ seniority.
The ACB statement highlighted that these actions, orchestrated by R.K. Razdan and others, were deemed arbitrary and illegal, resulting in undue financial benefits for Kunal Choudhary. The investigation into this matter is ongoing to uncover further details.
