The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) in Gujarat has initiated legal action against Ketaki Vyas, a former Resident Additional Collector in Anand district and a Senior Scale officer of the Gujarat Administrative Service. The case involves alleged disproportionate assets worth Rs 3.56 crore, which is 68.84% higher than her known income during the period from 2012 to 2023.
The ACB, under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, as amended in 2018, has registered the case as part of its efforts to uncover public servants suspected of amassing assets beyond their legitimate earnings. The investigation revealed that Vyas purportedly misused her official position to acquire assets exceeding her income, with the excess funds invested in various properties.
The ACB has formally charged Vyas under relevant sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, and its 2018 amendment. Additionally, the bureau is actively pursuing a broader campaign to identify unexplained assets held by public officials in different government departments, including real estate, vehicles, and financial accounts.
