Acting on the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Headquarters’ instructions, the ACB Outpost in Hanumangarh, Rajasthan, conducted a successful trap operation. The accused, Shriram, a Revenue Patwari, was caught red-handed accepting a bribe of Rs 15,000. The complaint alleged that Shriram demanded money for recording a mutation entry in the revenue records.
The ACB verified the allegations discreetly upon receiving the complaint. Subsequently, a trap operation was carried out under the supervision of Narayan Togas, Deputy Inspector General of Police, ACB. Sudha Palawat, Additional Superintendent of Police, ACB, Hanumangarh, led the operation that resulted in Shriram’s arrest while accepting part of the bribe amount.
The accused is currently undergoing interrogation, and legal proceedings are underway under the supervision of S. Parimala, Inspector General of Police, ACB. A case has been registered against the accused under the Prevention of Corruption Act. The ACB emphasizes its commitment to transparency and integrity in public administration, urging citizens to report corruption incidents.
On another note, the ACB Outpost in Dholpur conducted a similar successful trap operation, arresting Ramesh Kumar, a Junior Assistant, for accepting a bribe of Rs 25,000. The complaint against Ramesh Kumar alleged bribery for issuing a muster roll under the MGNREGA scheme, with claims of harassment until the bribe was paid.
