In a trap operation by Rajasthan’s Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Uttam Pandey from Uttar Pradesh was caught red-handed accepting a bribe of Rs 13 lakh in Sikar district. The complainant had reported the fraud in 2022 related to an investment in QFX Private Limited. The accused, posing as an official from the Enforcement Directorate in Chandigarh, demanded the bribe to clear the victim’s name from the case.
A written complaint lodged on December 30, 2025, led to the operation where the accused initially asked for Rs 20 lakh, later reducing it to Rs 15 lakh, and finally settling for Rs 13 lakh. The arrest took place near Hotel Ashoka in Kalyan Circle, with Rs 2 lakh in cash and Rs 11 lakh through other means recovered from the accused. The case is now under investigation as per the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988.
The trap was set by Jaipur Deputy Superintendent of Police Vijay Singh under the supervision of Deputy Inspector General of Police Anil Kayal. ACB Additional Director General of Police Smita Srivastava is overseeing the proceedings.
