A new development has emerged in the Bengaluru gang rape case involving a 19-year-old college student, where one of the accused has filed a police complaint against the victim and a journalist in the city. The accused, identified as Nikhil H.D., lodged an FIR with the Malleshwaram police before the victim did. The FIR based on Nikhil’s complaint was filed on February 21, a day before the FIR related to the alleged incident on February 22.
Nikhil, who is implicated in the case, accused the victim of making false allegations. He claimed that during a party, the victim shared personal details with him and later asked for financial support, alleging that she was a ‘sugar baby’ in need of a ‘sugar daddy’. Nikhil also mentioned being threatened by a person claiming to be a news channel executive, demanding money to prevent negative publicity.
The victim, a private college student, alleged that she was drugged and sexually assaulted by her boyfriend and his friend. The incident took place during a Valentine’s Day party, where the accused forced a tablet into her mouth, leading to her losing consciousness and being assaulted. The victim reported the incident to the police after seeking medical treatment and informing her brother.
