An accused involved in a Rs 2 crore embezzlement case in Pune was apprehended in Nashik, Maharashtra. The accused, Simon Ronnie Peter, allegedly diverted funds from flat sales to a fraudulent bank account, leading to the misappropriation of around Rs 2 crore from 32 customers. The case was registered in Pune on June 9 under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
Following the registration of the case, Peter went into hiding and turned off his phone to avoid arrest. Pune police, with the help of Gangapur Police Station officials in Nashik, located and arrested Peter at a hotel in Nashik. The accused was found staying in Room No. 301 of Hotel Treebo Sapphire on Gangapur Road. The police acted swiftly upon receiving the information and handed Peter over to Pune police for further legal action.
The successful operation to apprehend the accused was led by Senior Police Inspector Sharmale and his team from the Gangapur Police Station. The team, including officers like Assistant Sub-Inspector Tushar Deore and Police Head Constables Ravindra Mohite, Girish Mahale, and others, executed the arrest operation effectively.
