An individual accused of sexually assaulting a six-year-old girl in Uttar Pradesh’s Etawah district was injured in a police encounter in the Barhpura area. The incident took place when the accused lured the girl into the bushes while she was out to pluck mangoes near her home.
The victim’s family and villagers quickly responded to the situation, caught the accused, and handed him over to the police. The accused, identified as 22-year-old Nitin, attempted to flee but was surrounded and captured by the villagers before being handed over to the authorities.
Following the incident, the police, led by the Station In-charge of Barhpura, initiated an investigation and arrested the accused. The victim was taken for a medical examination, and legal proceedings were started promptly. An FIR has been lodged based on the victim’s mother’s complaint, and the accused confessed to the crime during police interrogation.
The accused sustained a gunshot wound to his leg during an attempt to attack the police officers. He was immediately arrested, taken to a hospital for treatment, and significant evidence related to the incident was recovered. An ongoing investigation is in progress, with more details awaited.
