Actor Harsh Chhaya highlighted the significant shift in Indian television following the success of “Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi.” He noted a clear distinction in content produced before and after this iconic family drama, which reshaped the TV landscape. Reflecting on the changing trends, Harsh emphasized the impact on storytelling and audience reception.

In a recent interview, Harsh pointed out the stark contrast between pre-2000 television content and the era post the debut of “Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi.” He described a scene from a TV show where the hero and heroine were hanging from a kite in mid-air, showcasing the evolution in storytelling techniques.

Sharing his observations, Harsh recalled instances from TV shows that left him perplexed. He narrated a scene where, as a doctor, he miraculously diagnosed a character without any tests, questioning the unrealistic portrayal of medical scenarios in current TV content creation. Despite his concerns, Harsh expressed his enduring affection for television as a platform that shaped his career.

Discussing the current creative process in television, Harsh expressed frustration over the rushed production schedules that limit discussions and revisions on set. He reminisced about the past when directors were more open to feedback and changes, contrasting it with the present scenario where time constraints often hinder creative exploration.

Harsh Chhaya, a veteran actor with a career spanning over three decades, has been associated with popular shows like Hasratein, Tara, and Koshish – Ek Aashaa. His recent appearance in the acclaimed OTT series Undekhi garnered positive reviews, showcasing his versatility across television, films, and digital platforms.
