Actor S J Suryah, known for his role in ‘Love Insurance Kompany,’ recently shared the inspiration behind his distinctive gesture in the film. During a thanksgiving event, he was asked to recreate the mannerism that caught the audience’s attention. In the movie, he portrays a character who emphasizes the word ‘Kompany’ by raising his arms in a victory-like gesture.
The actor expressed amusement at the gesture’s popularity, noting that many now ask him to repeat it in real life. He explained that the idea stemmed from the word ‘Kompany’ sounding similar to ‘Kombu,’ which means bull horns in Tamil. Drawing a parallel, he associated the gesture with the pride and beauty of bull horns.
S J Suryah credited the children of director Vignesh Shivan as the first admirers of his unique mannerism. He recalled how they would affectionately mimic his action and recognized the gesture’s broad appeal.
