Actor Suyyash Rai highlighted the issue of delayed payments in the television industry. Sharing a personal incident during an interview, he revealed a payment default of approximately 7 lakh rupees. Despite acknowledging the prevalence of delayed payments, Suyyash emphasized that the industry eventually balances such situations. He noted that individuals disrespecting artists or engaging in exploitation do not prosper in the long term.
Shaleen Malhotra, Suyyash’s co-star in the web series “Seven and a Half Dates,” mentioned his relatively smooth payment experiences, albeit occasional delays being common. He stressed that individuals working long hours deserve timely and fair compensation, considering the unfortunate trend of late payments in the television sector.
When asked about the necessity of alliances for survival in the industry, Suyyash expressed partial agreement, opting for a path where accomplishments are earned through diligence. He emphasized the importance of forming personal networks rather than relying on established groups, highlighting the collaborative nature of success in the industry.
“Seven And A Half Dates,” featuring Surbhi Jyoti and Karan Wahi, is produced by Lalit Kanungo and Dipesh Kanungo under Luck Films. The eight-episode series is set to debut on May 24 on Novice Records’ YouTube channel.
