Popular TV actress Munmun Dutta expressed her anguish over the rape and murder case of a 12-year-old girl in Baruipur, urging authorities to find the perpetrators and ensure justice for the child. She shared a poster demanding “JUSTICE FOR BARUIPIUR.”
The body of the 12-year-old girl was discovered in a pond in Baruipur, West Bengal, on July 5, a day after she went missing. The incident led to tension in the area as family members alleged that the girl was sexually assaulted and killed, though police are yet to confirm this claim.
Authorities have completed the autopsy of the minor’s body, awaiting the report to determine the cause of death and whether sexual assault occurred. Prohibitory orders have been enforced in the region, restricting gatherings of five or more people to prevent potential unrest.
Following the recovery of the girl’s body, locals protested in Baruipur, leading to allegations of a young man being lynched on suspicion of involvement in the crime. However, official confirmation on this incident is pending. Munmun Dutta, known for her role in “Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah,” has been vocal about seeking justice for the victim.
