Actress Sai Tamhankar discussed her method of selecting challenging roles that reshape audience perceptions. She emphasized the absence of a fixed process for choosing roles, mentioning how sometimes opportunities simply come along, and if she likes the project and the people involved, she accepts. Known for her versatility, Sai has portrayed emotionally complex characters in films like Mimi, delivered intense performances in Bhakshak, and now stars in Matka King.

Sai, a prominent figure in Marathi cinema, highlighted her preference for roles that differ from her previous work. She expressed a fondness for characters with strong voices and depth, indicating her inclination towards intense and multi-layered roles. The actress, who initially ventured into television with supporting roles, seeks challenges in her roles, aiming to either try something new, approach familiar roles differently, or take on entirely fresh characters.

In her recent project, Matka King, Sai stars alongside Vijay Varma and Kritika Kamra, portraying a narrative set in 1960s Mumbai. The film revolves around an ambitious cotton trader who introduces a new gambling game called ‘Matka’ in his pursuit of recognition and respect.
