Actress Swastika Mukherjee will portray a mother in the upcoming movie ‘Chheledhora,’ emphasizing the theme of finding strength during vulnerable moments. The Indo-American production, directed by Shieladitya Moulik, is scheduled to commence filming on March 1. The movie will be shot in unexplored locations of Itanagar and Ziro in Arunachal Pradesh.

Swastika Mukherjee shared insights about her character, Brishti, stating that despite her complex nature, the character’s love for her daughter is profound and instinctive. ‘Chheledhora’ narrates the story of Brishti, a divorced woman with flaws, who embarks on a transformative journey after her daughter is abducted. The film combines emotional family drama, thriller elements, and dark humor, presenting a unique Bengali-language road movie with a morally intricate female lead.

Director Shieladitya Moulik described ‘Chheledhora’ as a tale of flawed parents discovering hidden courage and selflessness. The narrative delves into the theme of healing and second chances, highlighting how children often guide adults towards redemption. The film’s production involves a collaboration between Handyyman, Sita22 Films, and an international team, including an Italian cinematographer, Vincenzo Condorelli.
