Actress Adah Sharma has shown her solidarity with the people affected by the devastating floods in Assam. She emphasized the challenges faced by numerous families and called on individuals to assist. Adah, known for her role in ‘Kerala Story,’ took to Instagram to express her concerns about the flood situation, noting the significant impact on people’s lives. Approximately 6.5 lakh individuals have been impacted, with numerous villages submerged and families seeking refuge in relief camps.
Adah urged people to empathize with the distress of witnessing floodwaters invade their homes, sweeping away their possessions, memories, crops, and livelihoods. She also highlighted the tough decisions families must make during such emergencies. Sharing images, Adah stated, “Assam is under water. Nearly 900 villages have been submerged. Around 7 lakh people have been affected, and close to 3 lakh individuals are seeking shelter in relief camps following continuous flooding. Homes, schools, farms, and livelihoods have been destroyed.”
The actress appealed for support, emphasizing the critical situation in Assam. The death toll in Assam has climbed to 62, with an additional 14 flood-related fatalities reported in the latest Disaster Reporting and Information Management System (DRIMS) update. Notably, seven deaths were recorded in Charaideo, six in Sivasagar, and one in Jorhat.
