Delivering a poignant speech at the 25th anniversary celebration of the Vishakha Group, Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group, emphasized that their success story was built on conviction, trust, and shared destiny. He recounted how the partnership between Vishakha and Adani Group, originating in 1992 during a global polymer trade crisis, evolved into a strong industrial collaboration admired across India.
During the turbulent times post the Gulf War, when India faced rupee devaluation and polymer imports dropped, Adani Enterprises had to reduce supplies to distributors. Despite the crisis, Jigish Doshi of Vishakha Group prioritized responsibility over profit, leading to a direct supply agreement with Adani based on trust and fairness. This marked the beginning of a friendship rooted in integrity and principles.
Adani praised Vishakha Group’s achievements, particularly highlighting their solar-glass facility as a significant national asset. The company successfully established India’s largest solar-glass furnace within a short span, with plans for an even larger Phase 2 project underway to double the capacity. Adani hinted at future ambitious goals in renewable energy and advanced materials sectors, indicating a promising future for the Vishakha-Adani partnership in India.
